Election in the time of Covid-19, reminds me of the book Love in the Time of Cholera by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. We won’t have to wait fifty years to find out who will replace outgoing Lane County Commissioner Pete Sorenson, but we should have the patience and wisdom to wait for the November General Election. With four candidates running for this open seat it is very likely that two top vote getters will have a run-off in the fall. That’s the way it should be. This seat is too important to automatically go to the candidate who spends the most campaign money. I’m committed to showing that wise discernment, experience as an elected official and volunteer community service can win out over big political campaign donations. I would greatly appreciate your vote and support in the Primary Election on May 19th.
